Shihan Allen Bennett, Hanshi - 9th dan Uechi Ryu Karate Do
Hanshi Allen Bennett has been involved in Uechi Ryu since the mid 1960's. He studied directly under Master James Thompson, and has been involved with the Uechi Ryu Kokusai organization since it's beginning. He has met and trained with martial artists such as Ernie Reyes Jr, Chuck Norris, and Steven Seagal.
Hanshi Allen Bennett has also trained in Japan and Okinawa with the Shinjo and Uechi Family, with recent training trips with Shintoku Takara.
Hanshi Allen Bennett has entered in the All Okinawan Karate World Championship held in Okinawa, Japan multiple times in the 1980s, placing 9th in the world twice.

Shihan Amanda Bennett, Kyoshi- 7th dan Uechi Ryu Karate Do
Renshi Amanda Bennett trained formally under Master James Thompson in Kalamazoo, MI and Allen Bennett while living in Florida. She has received black belt diplomas from different branches of the Uechi Ryu Karate Do system including Kanmei Uechi, Okikukai, and Kokusai Kyokai.
Renshi Amanda Bennett has more than 30 years training the martial arts including Karate, Aikido, Iaido, Jeet Kun Do and Tang Soo Do. Upon moving to Colorado, Shihan Amanda had left behind many dojos that she and Kyoshi Allen Bennett had created in and around Naples, Florida.

Richard Bennett has been involved with Uechi Ryu since he was 4 years old, and was among the first set of students to receive a junior black belt in Uechi Ryu. Currently Richard still continues to test at the youngest minimum age requirements for each black belt level. With over 25 years teaching experience, Richard Bennett has dedicated his time to expand traditional martial arts throughout Colorado. Richard Bennett also trains and has affiliated dojo with the Matayoshi Kobudo system in Okinawa.
Richard Bennett is the owner of Bennetts Karate and chief instructor for karate and kobudo at our main dojo in Erie, Colorado. He is also the technical advisor for our rec center affiliates in Erie, Lafayette, Westminster, Denver and Frederick.
David Tieben, Shidoin - 4th dan Uechi Ryu Karate Do
David Tieben has over ten years experience training in Uechi Ryu and started karate at the Erie Community Center. He also has experience in other martial arts such as Aikido. Currently David Tieben runs classes at the Bob L. Burger Center in Lafayette as well as karate classes for the youth program at the Erie Community Center.

Matayoshi Kobudo - 3rd dan
Heather Fennert runs the youth karate program for the Erie, Community Center and also teaches classes at the Bennetts Karate Dojo in Erie, Colorado. Heather competes in both karate and kobudo tournaments internationally including Canada and Okinawa - Japan. She also is an active coach for students of the dojo and competition judge.
Heather has traveled to Okinawa 6 timers for various tournaments, seminars, and training events. She has been able to test in Japan as well as train with renown Uechi Ryu Karate and Matayoshi Kobudo instructors.
