Bennetts Karate Dojo - Carbon Valley Rec. Center


Kyoshi Allen Bennett is an 8th degree black belt and has been involved in martial arts since the 1960's.  He created the karate program for the Carbon Valley Rec Department in 1999.


Renshi Amanda Bennett is a 7th degree black belt and will be helping with classes at the Carbon Valley Rec Center.  She has created karate programs in Frederick, Erie, Westminster, and Denver area.

Bennetts Karate has been teaching karate classes for the Carbon Valley Park and Rec. District since 1999.  Karate classes are currently held on both Thursdays and Saturdays with once and twice a week options available for students 7 yrs and above.  

Our new kids karate program began in 2018, with one class available on Saturdays.  Rec center classes are developed for everyone to be involved, so we encourage families to sign up together!

Enrollment is monthly, and although it is not mandatory, students should opt in to get the uniform and belt in order to progress and learn new material.  Please ask your instructor or call the main dojo in order to ask for additional karate equipment:

  • Sparring gear

  • Full white uniform

  • Patch or uniform package w/patch

  • Testing

  • Membership

Youth and Adult Karate Classes

Mondays and Thursdays

Beginners karate 6 - 7:00 pm

Intermediate/Advanced karate 7 - 8:00 pm

Kids Karate Classes 4 - 6 yrs old

Thursdays 5:30 - 6:00 pm

Kids Karate Classes

4 - 6 yrs old

In this class participants concentrate on karate basics through fun drills that develop coordination, discipline, and exercise the body.

This is a structured class promoting self defense, coordination, balance, and self control for all ages and skill levels.  


Classes will focus on form, kicking and punching correctly, prearranged fighting drills, and technical application.
