Bennetts Karate Black Belt Testing
Dates: October 9th and 10th
Location: Bennetts Karate dojo in Erie, CO.
Special guest on the testing board will be Master James Thompson Kyudan, Hanshi and President of Uechi Ryu Kokusai Kyokai
Matayoshi Kobudo Seminar
Dates: September 10, 11, and 12
Location: Boulder Kodokan, Pre-eminence Hall
Featuring Sensei Itokazu Seisho and Soke Matayoshi
A select few students at the Bennetts Karate dojo will accompany Sensei Richard Bennett for weapons seminars and training at the Boulder Kodokan. Four 2 hour classes will be held the last 2 weeks of June and the August in order to prepare for this event in September. This seminar represents the anniversary of the Boulder Kodokan's 15 years of martial arts run by Sensei Paul and Barbara Ghering. One of the unique parts of this seminar is that it will also be featuring the current Soke of the Matayoshi family kobudo system as well as the current head instructor Sensei Itokazu Seisho.
Master Thompson was out in Colorado for our 2006 black belt test, where Sensei Allen Bennett and Sensei Amanda Bennett were tested for their current black belt ranks. This October, Master Thompson will not only be running the black belt karate testing, but also our Aikido testing.
Sensei Richard Bennett and Sensei Bill Haggard will be testing for their Aikido shodan (black belt) rank this October.
