Allen Bennett has been involved in Uechi Ryu since the mid 1960's. He studied directly under Master James Thompson, and has been involved with the Uechi Ryu Kokusai organization since it's beginning. He has met and trained with martial artists such as Ernie Reyes Jr, Chuck Norris, and Steven Seagal. Shihan Bennett has also trained in Japan and Okinawa with the Shinjo and Uechi Family. Shihan Bennett has entered in the All Okinawan Karate World Championship held in Okinawa, Japan multiple times, placing 9th in the world twice.
Shihan Bennett has had multiple dojo locations across the United States; Florida, Michigan, Indiana, and Colorado. Some of Kyoshi Bennett's black belts have opened up their own dojo locations in Florida, Michigan, Philadelphia, and even Guam and Tokyo for a time, while some have taught while in the marines.

Throughout his Uechi Ryu experience, Sensei Allen Bennett has received black belt diplomas from Master Kanei Uechi, Okikukai Uechi Ryu under Master Tomoyose, Master Kanmei Uechi, and Master James Thompson. Allen Bennett has Shihan (master instructor) certificates from the Uechi Family as well as Uechi Ryu Okikukai.
Upon receiving his 7th degree black belt, Sensei Allen Bennett was also awarded his Kyoshi in 2006 by Master James Thompson, President of Uechi Ryu Kokusai Kyokai. Sensei Allen Bennett is currently the director of Uechi Ryu Kokusai Kyokai in the Rocky Mountain area.
